Tinplate (ETP), also known as tin-plated iron, is an iron sheet plated with tin on both sides, that is a cold-rolled low-carbon thin steel plate, which is rust-proof, corrosion-resistant and non-toxic. Mainly used to make metal packaging, including canned food, beverages, chemicals, medicine, hygiene, coatings, paints, sprays, cosmetic bottle caps, etc.

Type of Steel
MR | It contains few residual minor constituents and has good corrosion resistance. It is widely used for the applications of containers. |
L | It contains particularly few residual minor constituents as Cu, Ni, Cr, Mn. It is suitable for the materials of containers requiring improved corrosion resistance. |
D | It is an aluminum killed steel. It is suitable for the applications, that bear deep drawing or other workings which may produce Luder's lines patterns. |

Differential Marking
a) Edge Marking : Low Coating Side with interrupted lines.
b) Line Marking : Heavy Coating Side with continuous lines.
c) Tin coating weight can be flexibly adjusted according to customer's requirement.

Code 300 | 1.0 | 3.0 |
Notes: 1) Passivation applys to Tinplate only, TFS no need passivation.
2) Code 311 is the most widely used passivation.
3) Code 300 is a simple chemical dip treatment.

Remarks: Tinplate and TFS are electro statically oiled with DOS (Di-Octyl-Sebacate).
Appearance
|
Even when the same surface finish as ETP is applied to the substrate steel sheet, it provides the unique surface luster characteristic of metalic chromium.
|
Corrosion Resistance
|
As it has excellent corrosion resistance after paining, it is generally used with both surfaces painted, it can also be used with the internal surface unpainted, depending on the contents.
|
Solderability
|
TFS is not compatiblr with solidering
|
Weldability
|
Although TFS can be welded when the metalic coating layer are removed, its weldablity is inferior to ETP.
|
Coating Weights
|
Unlike the multiplicity of coating weights with tin, only one standardized chromium-coated product is manufactured.
