Galvanized Steel Coils refers to steel sheets coated with zinc through a hot-dip galvanizing process. The zinc coating protects the steel from corrosion and provides a durable layer of protection. The size of crystallites in galvanized coating is a visible and aesthetic feature, known as spangle. Galvanizing is one of the most effective and ecnomical methods for protecting bare steel from corrosive environments. It has wide usage, like making pipes, cutting sheets, making small tools, making corrugated sheets, making container, making fences, glass curtain walls, aluminum curtain walls as columns and stress materials, or for outdoor telecommunicatins towers, highways, other open-air construction steel and etc.. For the surfaces, there is zero spangle, regular spangle. It can be produced as customers' requirements. According to different usage, there are many techniques to satisfy the demand. For example, oiled, chromated and skin passed are the normal requirements.

Surface Difference of Zero Spangle & Regular Spangle
There are many factors affecting the size of zinc spangles. When the zinc liquid composition has the conditions for the formation of zinc spangles, the following factors will affect the size of zinc spangles:
1) Raw material: the smaller surface roughness, the thicker raw material steel plate, the bigger zinc spangle.
2) Cooling rate: the faster cooling rate, the shorter crystal growth time, the smaller zinc spangle.
3) Number of crystal nuclei: The size of zinc spangle is closely related to the number of crystal nuclei of zinc spangle. When the surface of steel base is rough or the surface cleanliness is poor, the zinc spangle is relatively small. Zinc grains are formed on steel base, and the more nuclei there is, the smaller zinc spangle will be. This principle is used in the production process of zero zinc spangles.

The B-UV-S is suitable for evaluating the relative durability of non-metallic materials such as paints, coatings, plastics, etc. by accelerated ageing tests with light and water exposure. It is particularly suitable for observing the destruction of physical properties of particularly durable materials, such as gloss reduction, colour fading, haze shading, strength reduction, chalking, cracking, blistering and embrittlement. It is also suitable for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
